WYAC Leaders Profile

Mike Glyde

I work for Worcestershire County Council in the Historic Environment & Archaeology Service.  My job involves assessing all development in the county to see whether it will affect archaeological or historic remains.  I then have to advise the local planning authority and the developer as to what archaeological work will be required to obtain their planning permission.

I have a specialism in aerial archaeology and routinely survey south Worcestershire recording cropmarks and earthworks.

Favourite Food - Bacon Butty & Red Bull

Epitaph - 'Should not have eaten all those bacon butties washed down with Red Bull'

Hobbies (other than archaeology) - Fireworks, Old aeroplanes, fly fishing, eating bacon butties and drinking Red Bull, photography, anything to do with squids and octopus, and wildlife in general, oh and fossils and science, playing computer games and badminton and watching telly, especially funny stuff. Snorkelling is fun and really.......anything but sitting around doing nothing.
